The Piridastgir Mosque (also known as Piri Dastgir Jome Masjidi) is a functioning mosque located in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. It holds religious and historical significance, particularly due to its association with the esteemed Sufi figure, Hazrat Shaykh Sayyid Muhyiddin Abdul Qadir Jilani.
Hazrat Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani was a prominent Sufi scholar and spiritual leader born in 1079 AD in the Jilan province of Iran. He later moved to Baghdad, Iraq, where he became renowned for his teachings and spiritual guidance. While his actual tomb is in Baghdad, the Piridastgir Mosque in Bukhara houses a symbolic shrine (mazar) dedicated to him, reflecting his spiritual influence in the region .The Piridastgir Mosque serves as a place of worship and a site of spiritual reflection, honoring the legacy of Abdul Qadir Jilani. It stands as a testament to the enduring influence of Sufi traditions in Central Asia.
